Leamington Watermain Upgrade
Working with Allens United, MDD is assisting the upgrade of nine aged watermain assets and seven non-compliant fire flow LoS watermains to ensure efficient, safe drinking water to the Cambridge community.

This project involved directional drilling and installation of 180mm PE pipe up to 200 metres in length around residential streets in Leamington, Cambridge.
We worked closely with the drainage team from Allens United to ensure planned shots minimised disruptions to residents and traffic, particularly ensuring cuts to driveways were minimised.
There were a large number of existing services in the area, so a significant amount of work was put into service locates around each installation.
The services installed also crossed the main street in Leamington several times, requiring additional traffic management, service location and minimising reinstatement required to cobbles, kerbs and pavements.
Based on successful completion of stages 1 and 2 ahead of budget and programme, the council approved an extension of works that continues as of August 2024.
